Baby Cakes

One of my favorite (shhh!) co-workers is very pregnant, as in due in 6 weeks.  I know, I know pregnant is pregnant regardless of how far along but come on now anyone who has been pregnant knows that at 34 weeks you are VERY pregnant!  Anywho, we had a work baby shower for her last Friday.  A few of us pitched in to provide food & organize.  I made these little gems.

Yep baby cupcakes (Baby Harker Cakes)!  Would have been slightly easier had I owned a piping bag for the chocolate faces and hair but I made do with my Ziploc baggie with the corner cut off.  

Duncan Hines Confetti cake of course, theres only so much I can do as a working momma and homemade cupcakes on a week night just weren't in the cards!

I do wish I could figure out how to make my frosting prettier....but then again this was a get it done quick thing while Addison was napping!

Snow Day For Everyone

Last nights snow storm didn't bring nearly as much snow as anticipated, although the winds were up to par. I thought the siding was going to be ripped off of our old farm house! We still got a good bunch of snow though, and the drifts with all this wind are impressive to say the least. I was happy to not have to wake up earlier than my normal 4am to get my butt ready for the slip slide to work.

I let the dogs out when I finally un-cocooned from my bed, my smaller dog Bandit sunk in snow! We figured we could all get bundled up and enjoy it a little so thats just what we did...enjoy it very little! :) It was cold and it was windy. We just wanted to get a few shots of snow deeper than Addison is tall in case it never happens again. While we do get a lot of snow here in Michigan, we don't get a lot of snow this deep usually!  The drift we used was 32 inches deep, thats almost 3 feet people!
