Happy 10th Month Baby Girl!

You are a crawling/couch cruising machine you get where you want to be and you get there FAST!
You "talk" a lot lately.  You babble away for a long time to your dolly or yourself.
You love people, especially other kids.
You are not shy most days (every so often you play a little coy act on people but you get over it very quickly) and you will take attention from whoever, when ever they are willing to give it.
You love the dogs and cats and you chase them around the house as fast as you can crawl after them.
You are a great eater and will eat pretty much anything that we put in front of you.
You say Mom-Mom, Da-Da, Ba-Ba, Hi and shake your head no when you don't want something.
You are fearless, you climb on anything you can get your feet up on, you are not cautious about anything!
You are also stubborn and strong willed (not unlike both of your parents) You want what you want, when you want it!!
You now sleep through the night *most nights* from about 9pm-7am

Finally got around to finishing that project.

Driving into the bad weather as I leave work is never fun.  Its been a crappy weather week here in Michigan!

So much for having what I needed on clearance for an awesome price.  Nope, I'll be spending the 48.00 that the gallon of water based Poly cost.

While My Creative Juices Are Flowing.

I've been wanting to make a cover for my camera strap because 1. its ugly, sorry Cannon, it is.  2. I hate the rubbery non-slip backing that it has on my neck, feels so gross to me.  So knowing I would have some leftovers from the hair bow frame project I bought a pretty fuzzy fleece blue, that makes an amazing amount of lint when cut, to go with it so that I could finally make a cover for that ugly thing.

And because I forget to take pictures while I am in the middle of sewing, heres the finished result.  I was going to put a ruffle of a different color fabric on it, but it took me forever to figure out how to make ruffled fabric with my sewing machine.  When I finally perfected it my fabric I had ruffled was too wide and I didn't feel like starting over!

The fuzzy blue is a lot more comfortable on the neck and much more fashionable.  And I won't lie I was not measuring or pinning rushing and its not perfect, that blue is some slippery stuff.  It still looks better than those big Cannon EOS letters, and if I didn't tell you you wouldn't know.  Someday when I don't have a screaming child, and I have a pair of scissors worth cutting fabric with I may try another one with some different fabric.

Addison's Bow Holder/Collage Frame

One of the bazillion projects I needed wanted to accomplish was this hair bow holder that I wanted to make for Addison since seeing it online months ago.  Do you remember back at the beginning of April when I bought this gem for $7 at the Catholic School rummage sale?

That hideous gold quickly became a girly Berry Pink by RustOleum.

My original plan was to just run ribbon across the frame vertically with a fabric backing to clip her bows to like this one:

  But then I started thinking that I should make it like one of those French memory boards in order for her to be able to still use it once she no longer allows me to put ridiculous bows on her head.  

So I had Tony cut a board that would fit within the frame and draw out some lines across the back in a diamond pattern.  

The lines that crossed within the middle area of the frame we drilled a hole in so that I could sew a button through the cross section.

I then sprayed the board with some spray adhesive and covered it with 2 layers of batting.  I used the hot glue gun to wrap it around on the back side of the board.  After that step I covered the board with the fabric that I had chosen, This was also simply hot glued to the board.

Next came the ribbon, I was going to just use some pink ribbon that I already had at home from another project but I was wasting time in Target last weekend at the dollar spot and found theses pretty cool spools of coordinating ribbon...a buck sounded right up my alley, and beat just plain pink ribbon. So I bought two. (Thankfully cause I had to glue 2 together to make it stretch across the full length of the frame on some of the pieces!  A dollar doesn't buy ribbon that is very long!)

I attached these with yet more glue (yay for glue guns!), using my lines on the back as a guide as to where to run them.  

the arrows are just there to remind me thats the top (so the butterfly ribbon wasn't hung upside down.)

Next I sewed a button on at all the points where I had a hole drilled in the back board I used a smaller button on the back side of the frame to hold the larger one on the front in place.  This made the board have a quilted look.

Now I took the whole board and hot glued it into the frame.  Later, once I get a few small nails, I will use them to make sure that its tacked in there pretty good but for now it seems to be holding very well with just the glue.  

Now we have a hair bow holder.

Now I have a bit larger frame that I picked up for free at a garage sale that they had given up hope on.  It is not quite as awesomely detailed as the one I found for Addison, but I may do the same thing with for my dining room wall, or something like this (I'm leaning toward this):
