So, I finally bought the stuff to make the tutu that I wanted to take Addison's six month pictures in. It was so much easier & faster to make that I had expected and I am so happy with the way it turned out. I actually purchased two yards of each of the colors that I used, 14 total yards (I somehow forgot to get pink though!!!!) and I had to cut it into strips myself because their selection of the small spools of tulle was a joke. But I saved money by buying it off the bolt, it was on sale and I actually had enough to make two tutu's with the materials that I purchased so when my best friend came over later in the day we made a second one for her four year old daughter Taylor.
I used these directions and did the slip knot method cause it was the easiest, I doubled up my tulle in an effort to make the tutu fuller than if I had used a single piece of tulle for each knot. I added some ribbon throughout the tutu, glued on a big bow and flower, and made her a matching headband. I cannot wait to do her pictures in it!
