Weekends make my world go round.

Thursday night:  Toddler Chaos.  We are huge into selective hearing right now.  Huge.  Momma is going to be huge into wine.

Friday morning I had an early morning eye doctor appointment, which if you wear contacts and super hate wearing glasses.  It's a great idea to schedule your eye exam BEFORE you run out of contacts.  That being said I am the worlds most awful contact lens wearer and my last 6 month supply lasted me two years....So this time I am taking a different approach.  I bought the entire years worth of contacts and I intend to make a legit attempt to wear them properly (or at least only make 30 day contacts go 60 days)  Oh I will never learn.
Anyhow, I decided instead of screwing around with finding a sitter for a 30 minute appointment I would just take Addison with me.  Hoping that early morning = well behaved wild child.  She did excellent!  Sat in the extra chair with a coloring book like a little angel the whole time.  Told the Dr. she made her momma look like a pirate when they covered one eye for me to read the chart.  :)  Apparently it was National Doughnut Day so they had some doughnuts in the lobby for people and Addison wasn't going to go without that chocolate doughnut that was calling her name!  (such an appropriate car snack...yuck)

After the eye Dr's we got in some grocery shopping and got home right as Addison was falling asleep in her car seat and I had to keep waking her up all the way down our road around nap time.   I got her in the house, on the potty and into my bed for a nap where I watched her sleep all stalker like cause damn it she's so sweet when shes sleeping!

When she woke from her nap her Grandpa Paul had just gotten to our house to spend the weekend.  So we had lots of play time and a cookout and picnic in the driveway.

Saturday I had a early morning photo session and when I returned we got Addison ready for a day of helping her daddy and grandpa build her new swingset.  Of course if your working in the yard you need a crazy hair do, which is referred to as a "garden do".

While they worked and Addison assisted/played I ran to the greenhouse for some more new plants for my flowerbeds.  I ran out for another quick photo session & grabbed some steaks for dinner before returning home to get to work.  I Donned my old pre-pregnancy well loved favorite jeans turned to baggy, saggy, and ripped up, only suitable for yard work pants and got to work.

Don't mind the awesome fake crocs that I garden in, they don't track in mud like tennis shoes do!

On my quick trip up to the gas station to grab ice for the cooler I saw for the second time of the day that this trellis was sitting abandoned on the side of the road over the highway over pass.  My guess is it slid out of the back of some one's truck.  If you won't turn around to pick it up I guess I will!  Free trellis for Amber.  I had just planted this climbing rose last week so I was in the market for a trellis anyhow!

My mom stopped by to check out the progress on the swing set (Addison's grandparents all chipped in to help pay for the set as her early b-day gift this year).  She and my Step-Dad had also stopped in and picked up my wedding band and a necklace that I had dropped off to be repaired at their local jeweler who had misplaced them (SINCE NOVEMBER!!!).  Every time I would stop in he'd look for it, act confused that he couldn't find it and tell me he'd call me...so they went in to play bad guy and though it took him a while he found it in a random drawer.  Hello.  While the repairs only cost me $25 we won't be going back there again.  But look after over a year without it, my wedding band and I are reunited.  

Late in the day they had made enough progress on the swing set that Addison got to check it out, the girl was so geeked.  She showed it off to her uncle's and had a great time checking it all out.  Everything is done but the roof, which will make it even more awesome.

Sunday was spent cleaning the yard for me while Tony took a rest day in the house.  I weed wacked like crazy picked up more sticks, knocked down more stray trees in the hedge row, trimmed more lilac bushes and raked.  OH MAN can I feel it today!  Addison and I had a lunch picnic in her new swing set and while I worked she make me a "special ingredient cake".

All in all it was another successful beautiful weekend!

The latest product I was sent to test was a big huge bottle of this new 2-in-1 Ivory Hair and Body soap.  Let me tell you I received the rain scent and it smells wonderful.  For me it was great as a body wash, I tried it for my hair and while it gets a great lather I wasn't super excited about it.  But for my daughter its great, hair and body all in one bottle, and it smells neutral enough that my husband can use it also without smelling girly.  I will definitely buy it again and think it's worth a try!

A Little Weekend Recap

Have you seen this YouTube "Convo's with My 2 Year Old" Channel yet?  They are only two short episodes in but man is it hilarious.  Perhaps because I have a two year old who for a while was frequently stripping herself naked at night.   Watch it...

Another weekend happened and I really didn't feel like I had three days away from work.  Luckily Monday's are not too crazy at work so they are bearable (most of the time at least).  My weekend (remember I start my weekend on Thursday nights, The only thing that keeps me loving four 10 hour shifts.) started with a Senior Portrait session after work, a late pick up from the baby sitters where as soon as I got close to her house I started seeing sticks, leaves, branches, entire trees uprooted and fallen all over the road. I had to go around some of the debris into the ditch before almost making it to her house only to find 3 driveways before hers, a downed power line hanging low across the road, so I had to take the 4 mile country block detour to come up on the other side of her house.  Which meant more trees to weave my way around.  It was nuts and I never hit anything but some heavy rain in my drive toward the house.

Friday was another Binder Park Zoo day, this time I drove my sitter (she doesn't drive) and her daughter where we met up with her sons school for their zoo field trip.   We spent so much longer than I was prepared for there and though it was fun we outlasted Addison's length of time before she NEEDS a nap and had one major in zoo breakdown.   I wouldn't let her run to the front of the line where we were waiting to ride the train, all hell broke loose.  Oh how I love tired Addison break downs.  The girl is nasty mean when they happen.  Thankfully I know it's just a tired thing so for the most part they can be avoided.

So after the zoo and an incredibly short nap on the way home I reluctantly braved going into town to pick up a bridal shower gift (hello last minute Amber), some crafting things and some much needed coffee.  Thankfully she was mostly an angel after having to be reminded yet again, "you don't run from mommy" in the first store we went to.  (She will kill me over this issue I swear!)

Saturday we cleaned some house in the morning, then headed out with my mom to a friends bridal shower.  I wasn't planning on taking Addison with me because they are always timed to be right at or near nap time and as I was reminded the previous day, no nap for Addison = break down city.  But since my mom had called me the night before to say she was going I figured at least I wouldn't be dealing with her all on my own so she got to go.  She had a blast, she ate up all the attention that she received and she got to pet kittens and some horses.  What wasn't to love?

On the short ride back to our house after the party Addison begged her Grandma into going home with her.  "I wanna go home with Gramma"  "Gramma you go to my house, get you car and take me to your house"  For real.  So I said if you want her she's all yours and had an unplanned kid free night.  We went back and forth about where we wanted to go/what we were going to do with our free time.  Finally someone mentioned Butler (the local dirt track) and I was in!  I texted a friend who goes more frequently than we do to see if they happened to be going also and ended up convincing them to come.  We got there early and ran into another friend who also sat with us.  It was a good time, and sure beats the heck out of the cigarette smoke filled casino that I don't entirely love much about other than the seafood dinner.  :)

Mini-Sprints

Sunday I got up way to early for a mom with no kid, did some crafty things that are impossible to do with Addison trying to help you, and headed into town to pick up some new plants for around the house.  I decided to skip out on a garden all together this year because I just don't have the time for taking care of one.  Instead I'm spending the time and money that I would have on my garden to add to my flower beds around the house.  Yesterday I picked up some columbine, some poppies, a climbing rose bush, a couple of pink day lilies, and a bleeding heart.  Once I get those planted I'll go back for another round of shade loving plants for the north east end of my house.  Soon my flower beds should be overflowing with plants.

The end of Sunday always comes too soon, I had a photo session at 3:30 and then headed up to my mom's to pick up Addison.  Which of course came with a hot dinner :)  Ended up getting home around 8:00 just in time for getting things around for Monday and bed time for Addison.  Weekends are just never long enough!
