Currently....

Obsessing over: Being organized.  I feel so stressed out during the 4 days that I work.  Like seriously start to feel ill just thinking about work on Monday Sunday evening.  yuck.  So I'm trying to make myself less stressed by making sure that I accomplish as much as I can for my 4 day work week ahead of time.  So starting this week I made myself some Crock-Pot oatmeal (that pretty much sucks compared to how I was expecting it to turn out) that I can eat for breakfast at work.  I also bought one of those pre-cooked rotissary chickens and made chicken salad (I used dried cherries and grapes instead of cranberries) and boiled eggs to make Egg Salad for the week (though I have more than I can really eat in a week, I wonder if you can freeze it?)  Both of those recipes turned out really good for being healthy versions, I kind of can't wait to eat my sandwich for lunch today.  I also bought another chicken that Addison and I ate for dinner last night, will use the breast meat tonight for something else.  Hopefully planning ahead will save me some time/stress.  I need to remember to pack Addison's lunches for the week also when I don't just send her with a lunchable (you know lazy lunch).  Perhaps I should invest in more than one of these so that I can pack for 4 days at once...actually consider a few more purchased considering I just got a $25 amazon card for belated Christmas from my boss this morning.  Cha-Ching!

Working on: Trying to organize some Valentines Day mini photo sessions if I can swing it.  I don't know why but valentines day is one of my favorite holidays for pictures...perhaps it's my love of all things Pink.

Thinking about: Retirement, or rather never working again for anyone but myself, every minute of every day that I am working.  I seriously don't know what my deal is lately but I DO NOT want to be here.  I don't even hate my job, I'm just really over it.  I'm sick of stressing out, running around like a chicken with my head cut off 4 days a week, Only seeing my kid 2 hours a day.  Sending her to a sitter for a ridiculously long time every day.  Then I feel guilty on the weekend when I need to do something without her around and have to find someone to watch her yet again. Frustrating.  Can I just quit yet?  for real.

Anticipating: This Saturday Addison starts her gymnastics class (well we both do since its a mom & me class) Should be fun, she was DYING to "play with the kids" the day that we went to sign her up, like temper tantrum dying.  She should love it, lets just hope she can focus her energy!

Listening to: The sound of the refrigerator running next to me and myself typing.

Drinking: Water

Wishing: I was still in bed or at least just waking up now!

Happy Holidays

I'm in the mists of being off work for 13 days...I have to go back on Wednesday and I am hard core dreading it.  BLAH.  I've reached full lazy mode though in the past few days and quite honestly it was much needed.

Christmas was awesome this year, Addison is the perfect age for the excitement of presents.  She may not be old enough to understand the rest of Christmas but boy oh boy does the girl love presents!  She was adorable ripping things open, getting excited hoping that the next present was pajamas too.  Of course as soon as one was open she was ready to rip into the next one.  We, Santa, got her a Doll house which has been a huge hit, as well as the new kitchen from grandma, her new sparkly LED shoes from grandma, her stick horse, her magnetic dress up doll who she calls barbie, anything she got that had Dora on it and her dollies.  The girl is spoiled rotten!  We had lots of Christmases to celebrate with our families and she actually did great for skipping naps, refusing to sleep in the car on the drive to ohio for more than 30 minutes even after waking up SUPER early on Christmas day..you really never would have known by how well she did all day.

and while we were in Ohio for Christmas we got hit with a big snow storm so we took some time to throw together some random snow attire (Browns hat..eek!) and made a make shift snow man in the not so packing snow.  Addison lasted about 15 minutes before a total cold hands break down.  To be fair those gloves were not meant for real snow!

Now we are de-Christmasing the house sniff, sniff... I love the holiday decor.  Time for some pink/red/hearts I suppose!

Getting into that VoxBox

I promised to return with a review on the Boody Quickstyle Brush (retail $11.99)

It definitely does its job, I brushed my hair with it for about 5 minutes before I started blow drying and I cut down my blow drying time by at least 1/3.  Also my hair dried much straighter than normal without the help of my straightener.   I've used it a few times now and definitely think it helps, I'm interested to see if it helps more once I finally get around to chopping the dead ends off my hair!  In serious need of a cut!

This morning I tried the Quaker Real Medleys Oatmeal (retail $1.79 cup).
I've looked at buying these in the past because they are easy on the go, I can't tell you how many times I've melted a plastic cup at work because I tried to make a bag of instant oatmeal in it....Not a problem here because the cup comes with the oatmeal.  The instructions give you the option of adding boiling water or microwaving.  While I am home this week I figured I'd keep it real and use the microwave because honestly that's what I would do 90% of the time at work.  It claims to not boil over so I though I would test that out also since I hate nothing more than having to clean out boiled over oatmeal.  Good news is it doesn't boil over. 45 seconds and its done.  I would add more water next time as I like my oatmeal to be a little more liquid than this came out.  Overall I like this product.  Its great for on the go and its healthy.  Apples, cranberries, walnuts and whole grain.  Nothing on the ingredient list that I don't recognize.  The only part I wasn't a huge fan of was the walnuts but I'm picky about what food I like walnuts in anyway.  I don't know if I'll buy these when they aren't on sale, I like to keep my breakfast cheap, but if they are on sale I would love to try some of the other flavors that are available.  Peach Almond, Summer Berry and Cherry Pistaschio.
