Bumpdate: Baby 2: Week 23

How Far Along:
23 Weeks

Size of baby:
A Grapefruit

Total Weight Gain:
4 lbs

Stretch Marks:
Nothing that wasn't Addison induced

Maternity Clothes:
Pants for sure, still rocking mostly normal shirts

Gender:
It's a BOY!

Movement:
Definitely more pronounced this week, and you can feel/see it from the outside also.  Pretty much anytime I stop moving he's thrashing around in there.

Sleep:
No problems sleeping.  none.  I've gotten the body pillow in the bed now to be more comfortable but I still find myself sleeping without it and can still sleep ever so slightly on my stomach/half side ways.  I'm most definitely a stomach sleeper but my exhaustion since having Addison has pretty much cured me of not being able to sleep on my back/side at all.  Used to be awful to try and fall asleep in any other position!  But since the birth of Addison, hell the pregnancy, I can recall very, very few nights where I have had any trouble falling asleep, my biggest issue is keeping my eyes propped open long enough to accomplish all the things on my to do list every night before I stumble to bed.  Someday I'll learn 8pm bedtimes are good for people who get up at 4-4:30 am.

What I miss:
Being able to do whatever without my body saying "WTH?!".  I hate asking for help, the ability to do things on my own like move heavy things/carry stuff/squeeze myself into tight spaces, all gone.  I hate depending on other people to help me.  HATE.

Food Cravings:
Give me the Candy!  Halloween + pregnancy + 3 year old to take trick or treating...okay! Oh and no-bake cookies of the peanut butter variety.

Food Aversions:
I'm about to have an aversion to McDonalds coffee can't a McDonalds employee in Jackson County make a proper pumpkin spice latte?  Seriously folks, remember to stir it up or don't put in 50 pumps of syrup...yuck.  At least my freebie card is full for the next attempt.  Oh and I wouldn't even buy shitty McDonalds coffee if all you fricken coffee shops in Jackson would actually be open early enough in the morning to serve us unfortunate souls who actually need our morning coffee before 6am! /rant

Symptoms:
I talked a little too much to people the past few weeks about how this kid is going to be bald because I've had ZERO heartburn this pregnancy and I had it horribly with Addison.  Well kid must have decided to grow a little hair cause the heartburn started yesterday!  Of course what did I have with me at work?  A bottle of tums that I have been carrying around in my bag for months anticipating heartburn which now equals a fine powder filled bottle of what used to be tums.  Travel size fail.

Best Moment This Week:
Taking Addison to the Zoo Boo at Binder Park Zoo.  She had a blast!

What I’m looking forward to:
Trick or treating tomorrow night!

How Far Along:
22 Weeks

Size of baby:
A Papaya

Total Weight Gain:
3 lbs

Stretch Marks:
Nothing that wasn't Addison induced

Maternity Clothes:
Pants for sure, still rocking mostly normal shirts

Gender:
It's a BOY!

Movement:
for sure

Sleep:
I should be getting some right now instead of posting this!

What I miss:
This week the world was falling apart on me for a few days, I surely missed alcohol for the first time in my life.  I don't know what the deal was but NOTHING was going right and I was a ragey bitch there for a day or four.  :)

Food Cravings:
Just like with Addison this baby loves him some sweets, chewy delicious sweets.  Gummy bears, jelly beans, yum, yum.  Though this guy gives me some serious chocolate cravings and I've never been a huge chocolate fan.  (You still won't catch me eating any chocolate cake, but I can't walk past a snickers bar right now.)

Food Aversions:
nothing

Symptoms:
Tired, cranky, growing belly.

Best Moment This Week:
surviving a week that I felt like I'd never make it through!

What I’m looking forward to:
Right now Halloween, I can't wait to do some trick or treating with Addison, she LOVED it last year and I'm sure she will be just as fun this year.  We're going to attempt to go to the Binder Park Zoo Boo on Sunday so I am going to be in a mad rush tomorrow to finish up her costume!  You know just call me last minute Amber lately!

Addison:
nothing new in baby news, but someone got her big girl twin bed in her room finally this week.  She thinks she's pretty awesome and that it's big enough for her to sleep in for a while, in her words : "until she gets too big for the new bed, then I'll have to sleep with Mommy & Daddy in their bed"

Bumpdate: Baby 2: Week 21

So this is a little late but you know, life.  This week was spent working as usual, a Tigers ALCS game for Tony and I along with my cousin & her hubby, a doctors appointment, Halloween costume making for a spoiled three year old that I know and sorting through BINS, and BINS of girl clothes to get rid of.

We had standing room tickets for the Tigers game which meant the whole game on my feet on top of walking to and from the game which really wasn't that far but my body on Wednesday and Thursday surely told me that I over did it.  That is something that I don't ever remember feeling like with Addison, though I also wasn't helping to carry/pick up a three year old around all the time then either.  This baby feels so much lower than Addison did when I was carrying her, which is maybe why being on my feet too long seems to kill me.  I feel like I got sucker punched in the uterus to be exact :)  and all the movement I've felt is like dancing on top of my bladder.  I've also noticed that any time I attempt to carry anything that is pressing up against my belly I get major stomach pains instantly, I don't know if its ligament pain or baby protest, all I know is it hurts!

I had a doctors appointment on Monday, which for a change I had Monday off because I had to work this past Saturday.  Anyway, when we had our ultrasound they found that there was fluid on the baby's kidneys.  The ultrasound tech said it was pretty common in male babies especially and it usually goes away on it's own before birth, that they would just keep an eye on it.  Dr. Farhat re-confirmed the tech's statement and said they would do a recheck ultrasound around 30 weeks to make sure that it had gone away.  I haven't worried myself too much about it since they and other people I have talked to make it sound like its a pretty common occurrence.

How Far Along:
21 Weeks

Size of baby:
A Pomegranate

Total Weight Gain:
Up 1 lb from pre-pregnancy weight

Stretch Marks:
Nothing that wasn't Addison induced

Maternity Clothes:
Pants for sure, still rocking mostly normal shirts

Gender:
It's a BOY!

Movement:
bladder dancing

Sleep:
Always want more, someone like to add more hours to my day just for sleeping?

What I miss:
Not feeling like I over do it with the littlest things

Food Cravings:
no real cravings lately, I'm happy to be able to eat anything now again and not have the food aversions that I had with Addison.

Food Aversions:
see above

Symptoms:
Tired, over emotional, hungry, abdomen pains mentioned above

Best Moment This Week:
Hearing the heartbeat again at the doctors office 143, something about hearing it is comforting.  I don't know if its a second kid thing, a being super busy thing or what but this pregnancy just doesn't feel as 'real' it's strange and hard to explain.  I guess maybe it just doesn't consume my every thought like it did when it was the 'first'.

What I’m looking forward to:
Another ultrasound, and we'll get a 3D look at that one!

Addison:
Refers to the baby as "her baby" she still wants to name him Puddin' but also is ok with the name that we have picked out.  (Yes there is a name folks, but you'll have to wait to find out!)  When we ask her if we can name the baby _____ she says "No Puddin!", but if you ask her what other name she likes for the baby she'll tell you she likes the name we've picked.  I mean she can call him Puddin' for his whole life if she really wants to, I'm sure when he's 16 he'll love it.
